Worst for Day

Two days after members of the TTT editorial team SPOTTED The MARC's piercing blue eyes from beneath a baseball cap outside Pastis in the Meatpacking District, comes news that the designer and public relation's man Lorenzo Martone are calling it quits. Page Six reports that sources say Martone has vacated the Chelsea love nest and did not accompany Marc Jacobs to Massachusetts for the P-town wedding of his business partner, Robert Duffy, at which MJ served as best man. Moving out of the Mercantile Building and stepping down as your husband's wedding date? All is not well on Bleecker Street!
UPDATE!
The Boston Herald includes Martone in its story about Robert Duffy's wedding. Also noted were the inclusion of hired stripers at the wedding. Strippers! Trash. Either way, we hope the boys get it together or we'll never see this again.

Spotted @ 2 Downtown Parties

The editors and directors of Paper Magazine hosted a small party last night at Macoa, ostensibly introducing the snug restaurant/nightclub on Church St. to the magazine's friends. Switching gears (and crowds), A Private Club and Lalique hosted a kick-off party for "Decodence: Legendary Interiors and Illustrious Travelers Aboard the SS Normandie" at the South Street Seaport Museum. The exhibit celebrates the elaborate deco interiors of the fabulous SS Normandie. The opening celebration was a preppy party à la "Gossip Girl" featuring the usual cast of characters: post-grads in blue blazers and slicked-back hair alongside Chanel 2.55-swinging girls enjoying a little too much white wine for a Tuesday night. The wait staff, provided by the charming Marc Levine, were most attractive, as usual. Gift bags included the limited edition SS Normandie tee shirts designed by Jeremy Scott. (Perfect for P-town!) The biggest sighting in the usual crowd of party queers (*cough* Kristian Laliberte *cough*) was Seth Weissman, the boy who allegedly bought half of Fire Island Pines!

Spotted @ Metropolitan, Bryanboy : Le Superstar Fabuleux

He's lauded in L.A., mobbed in Manhattan, front row in Paris and adored the world over via his blog: he's BryanBoy and last night he was SPOTTED in Williamsburg having dollar PBRs at Metropolitan. The petite blogger began chronicling his style and lifestyle along with the international collections from his home in Manila, Philippines five years ago. Flash forward a few seasons and Bryanboy has a Marc Jacobs bag named after him and held the place of honor at last season's Dolce & Gabbana show in Milan, sitting front row along side IHT/NY Times' Suzy Menkes, Vogue's Sally Singer, Hamish Bowles and Anna (f-ing) Wintour. According to BB, Williamsburg is super cute and he loves Metro's cheap drinks!

Tradition holds that all GPCs, PGs and trannies of means scoot it out of the chilly city for points south during the holidays. Tropical vacays are best for (holi)day 09/10 and were in full force this Christmas through New Years.

Spotted @ Toys For Tots at Pier Sixty

The annual Toys for Tots party is what many consider the gay event of the holiday season. With capacity for 2300, the sold out event attracted nearly every gay you have ever met to the Chelsea Piers, providing thousands of gifts to under privileged kids. Of course the draw wasn't completely philanthropic: an open bar fueled the "see and be seen" atmosphere. As one attendee put it, "It's like everyone from low, middle and high tea at one time." Spotted . . . advertising boys Oz Barbosa, Will Meeks, Josh Appelbaum and Jim Murphy . . . bloggers Davis McDavis and Zee Bdr (with his blue flower, naturally) . . . Jack Mackenroth (who is never not out) . . . Mr. Matt Maddox . . . Ru Bhatt . . . Leon Setton working the SAGE table . . . Spotted @ JPMorgan Chase Pride Event at Armani

Last Thursday, Giorgio Armani's flagship megastore on 5th Avenue played host to members and guests of JPMorgan Chase Pride, the financial services firm's gay and lesbian organization. Homos and hags downed white wine and champagne and sampled incredible chocolates from the newly launched Armani Dolci line all while enjoying an hefty 40% discount on purchases. The scene was nattily turned-out bankers with their beaus and bffs: ideal Power Gay hunting ground. When the main event came to a close at 9, many attendees moved on to the sleek and chic (and relatively cheap!) Armani Ristorane to drink, dine, see and be seen.

Spotted @ GALA mixer at the W Tuscany

The Audrey bar inside the W Tuscany Hotel was closed last night for a GALA mixer. Ivies downed complimentary Svedka cocktails from 5:30 to 7:30. The crowd was typical ivy-gay: older lezzies talking shop and gray-haired daddies eyeballing the spry young dandies fresh from a day at the firm or bank. Asians, both male and female, abounded and saphic lovers were plentiful, more butches than lipstick ladies. On the boy front, a few typical, preppy-cute guys save for one just-graduated, dropdead hunk with many fans fawning outside. At least there was free booze.

Spotted @ Christies

As summer has certainly graduated into autumn, brunch al fresco and sunset picnics are being replaced with matinées and art installations. Sunday afternoon, TTT editors had the opportunity for a private viewing of Christie's postwar and contemporary art collection which will go to the auction block on Tuesday evening. Among the many gems that will adorn the homes of European collectors and museums across the globe was J.M. Basquiat's above pictured Brother Sausage, a 6-paneled work that is expected to go for around $12,000,000, this is mere pocket change for Valentino Garavani who was there deciding which palazzo he might purchase the piece for.

Also spotted: New York's fashion prince, Marc Jacobs and friend-- eyeing some Warhol.... Art dealer to the stars, Haley Cohen....Beauty ging' Ashley Riegle....and far too many Birkins...

Spotted@ Michael Hainey's "Less Human More Being" at Thom Browne Tribeca

GQ deputy editor Michael Hainey opened his debut art presentation, "Less Human More Being", with a private party at the Thom Browne store in Tribeca, Friday evening. His paintings are bold and utilize broad strokes over tiny details; a journalistic approach to painting, if you will. The crowd was downtown fashion-fab: 40-something power gays in cashmere camel overcoats gossiping about Halloween plans, British gals in head-to-toe Chanel, roving style reporters (who selected one TTTer for a feature) and hip parents with their little ones in tow. It was a fashion-meets-press industry crowd, many of who are TTT friends that prefer to fly under the gaydar. The boldest names spotted were Oprah's go-to design guy, Nate Berkus with friends . . . Thom Browne and Michael Hainey posing for photos and working the room . . . Hainey's work will hang at Thome Brown Tribeca through November 11.

Spotted@ Mr. Maddox's first 29th Birthday Bash

B-Bar, home of the Tuesday night Beige party, played host to a very special birthday on Sunday when Matt Maddox celebrated his first annual 29th birthday with an afternoon soirée for 80. Mr. Maddox entertained on the outdoor patio with scrumptious hors de'ourves, cocktails and his renowned charm. The centerpiece of the celebration was the singing of "Happy Birthday" around a delicious Italian chocolate birthday cake from Veniero's bearing a boyhood likeness of everyone's favorite lawyer. Being Mr. Popular, Maddox's birthday was essentially a Fire Island reunion. Spotted: . . . textbook GPC, Nick George and Joey Fernandez making sure everything ran smoothly . . . executive recruiter to legal hotshots, Ru Bhatt . . . Maddox's FIP housemates, Joe Nuzzi, Walter Frye, Brent Pelton, and Tom Carberry (singing show tunes as usual) . . . ginge-daddy Ted Shields . . . blogger, Zee Bdr and his man..... language aficionado, corporate lawyer and the recently (and thankfully) un-mustached David Cody Dydek . . .
